Qualifications - Achievements - Experience
From an early age, I was always interested in anything mechanical that could be dismantled to investigate how it worked
In the late 70s, my interest became more focused onto clocks and watches as a collector / dealer and eventually also repairer.
Later on, I decided to turn this passion into my full time job and become a watch and clock repairer with recognised professional qualifications.
So I went back to college to gain a diploma in Horology.
This course was really invaluable to me as it gave me the opportunity to gain knowledge by working with professionals of high caliber and, at the same time, acquire experience of the necessary equipment needed to carry out professional repairs.
The studies leading to the Diploma in Technical Horology were run in conjunction with The British Horological Institute curriculum and exams.
Additionally, after attending the watch repair course run by Rolex, I was accredited with the Approved Rolex Repairers affiliation.
I also attended a short course in Complicated Watches run by Antoine Simonin, who, at the time, was the director of WOSTEP (Watchmakers of Switzerland Training and Educational Program) ... but please note that although I used to repair/service watches, I no longer offer this service...
I will only do small jobs on watches, such as replacing glasses, batteries etc.
(I have also terminated my association with Rolex)
British Horological Institute(BHI) exams' qualification grade: Pass with Merit (highest achievable grade)
BHI Winnner of the 1st prize for producing the best Practical Piece (final grade level)
BHI Winnner of the 1st prize for the best Practical Piece (throughout all three levels)
BHI Winner of the 2nd Prize in Technical Horology
Hackney College Award for outstanding achievement
Winner of the George Daniels prize
I have plenty of experience,
as since the beginning of my professional career, I have repaired all types of clocks
for the trade and the general public.
Locally, I have also carried out repairs for the Canterbury Cathedral
and the Kings School,
as well as for local jewellers, antique shops and other clock repairers.
